In this piece, I wanted to capture the playful spirit of the kookaburra — times three! These birds are full of character, and I imagined them as old friends sharing a laugh on a branch. Their energy is what inspired the bold, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours.
I used electric blues, oranges, and splashes of pink and purple to bring them to life, set against a bright blue background that lifts the whole piece. I don’t paint to replicate — I paint to *feel*. The movement, the laughter, the connection between these birds — that’s what I wanted to express. It's all about joy, spontaneity, and colour.
