We see that he holds an object like an iphone in his hand in the manner of someone using an old camera. The painting suggests the coexistence of two eras, with an atmosphere of the 1920's. Time converges between past and present ,and echoes the formality of yesteryear, in contrast with the modern phone camera in the corner of the picture.
