I took the reference photo for this painting while on a beach in Skiathos. Swans aren’t truly white, so the challenge was capturing the balance of warm and cool tones to bring it to life. Painted in one sitting using oils with a brush and palette knife.

It was the morning of my sister's wedding. Everyone was buzzing with excitement, the girls especially loud with laughter and energy. Then, just as things quieted, a swan drifted by. Calm, still and serene. That contrast stayed with me.
