“Sunrise” 50x50cm, acrylic on canvas

This painting is inspired by Byzantine art, which has deeply influenced my approach to depicting female figures. At the center of the composition is a sun-like face rendered with decorative elements reminiscent of iconography: prominent red cheeks, white contours, and symbolic hand gestures. In the background, Ukrainian ornamentation can be seen, adding a layer of connection to folk motifs and traditions. The ornamental patterns and stars intertwine with dynamic lines, creating a fresco-like effect and a sense of dimensionality. This blend of traditional art with modern interpretation highlights the timeless connection between past and present, infusing the work with a sacred resonance.
