Original artwork description:

This painting was inspired while I was stopped at a traffic light. I happened to glance down and was struck by the beautiful play of light and shadow, which I knew I wanted to capture. In the distance, the lower sun created warm reflections on the buildings, and although there was a larger group of people walking toward me, I chose to simplify the scene by including just two figures and a dog.
