‘Secrets and wishes’ 76 x 101cm - oil on canvas. Inspired by something I wrote:
I was watching the sky last night, it was a little sombre and over cast but I knew that behind that confusing fog there would be a clear, deep, endless inky blue that would stretch out into forever. Sensitively dusted with billions of little diamonds, like a tribe of smiling eyes, quietly excited yet bashful about being seen.
Do you remember that one particular star, at first glance it wasn’t overly bright or uniquely different from it’s tribe…….it just gave us hope, as she existed there quietly on the edge of time while fates grand plan continued. It was as if she were carrying the most fragile of secrets, an extra special secret….alone but completely void of loneliness.
I often close my eyes and recall that special little star from my memories. In awe of how she reached out across the universe beyond the illusion of edges, like something wanted to grieve, yet in the same instance another thing wonderful was about to be born.
Clouds and shadows will inevitably come and go hiding between made up words and moments of grief…..but I promise you unconditionally that they will never taint our perfect starry sky.
