You stand safely on the rocks as the surf is pounding. There is an eerie light in the sky and encroaching fog on the water. The ship races to port in order to beat the approaching weather. I have seen this just before sunset with the suns rays in pinks or oranges reflecting on the water and mist. You know the storm is coming and hope the ship makes it to port before it breaks. I choose to explore the boundaries between the sea and sky and sea and the shore where so much activity happens. An acrylic painting on stretched canvas, It is dynamic in both color and subject with textured acrylic resin defining the foaming breakers. Unique, two dimensional and bold it is evocative of many coastal areas.
