Original artwork description:

This abstract mixed-media painting began intuitively, with only a color palette in mind and gesso for texture. As I worked, I realized it was an exploration of phases—of the moon, of life, and of transformation itself. The painting evolved through multiple layers of acrylic paint, building depth, and atmosphere. Once dry, I began working in oil paint to add richness and detail. As the layers accumulated, so did meaning. What began as abstract intuition gradually became a meditation on phases. Each phase separate and distinct, yet inherently connected, a unified whole. One of the joys of abstract paintings is that its interpretation isn’t confined by realistic objects or subjects. The viewer is free to accept whatever meaning he/she finds in the painting. I’ve offered my explanation of the painting, but you are free to discover your own.

The painting is 16 inches wide, 20 inches high, and .75 inches deep. The sides are painted, and the back is wired and finished with a dust cover, so the painting can be hung as it is without a frame. It’s also suitable for framing if you prefer.

The artwork is finished with a satin varnish, which protects it from dirt, dust, and fading. It will be carefully packaged and shipped in a box. Instructions for care will be included.

Materials used:

gesso, professional grade acylic and oil paint
