Original artwork description
This painting is inspired by the Greek myth of Persephone, the daughter of Zeus who was forced to live underground for some of the year. I recall reading this at a very young age and being horrified at the story so much so that I decided to paint Persephone in the light and surrounded by a lot of colour!
