Artist's description:

This is a remembrance of a beautiful journey. I often take the mail boat, Elizabeth Ann, to Monhegan Island for a day trip. On this day the waves off the bow grew and crested with a curl that reflected the shell pink colors of the sky above. The beauty and serenity of the waves with their regular rhythms was calming. Underneath is the thrum of the ferry engine as we travel from the coast to the island. In the distance granite islands dotted the horizon. Days like these are etched in my memory ready to be pulled out and revisited on canvas. This piece comes to you wired for hanging but you could frame it if you like.

Materials used:

Canvas stretched on wood stretchers, acrylic paint and gel medium as protectant, eye hooks and wire for hanging
