This scene was born from the memory of a grape harvest celebration—one of those moments that smell of fresh grapes, laughter, and bare feet in the soil. I painted it with a smile on my face, trying to capture that raw and contagious joy that comes from doing things together. The two women stomping grapes, skirts lifted and music all around, to me embody freedom, spontaneous femininity, and playfulness.
While painting, I could almost smell the must and hear the accordion playing. I used a palette knife and layered warm autumn colors, letting the wine, the grapes, the movement and the light blend into one vibrant story.
Nettare d’autunno is my tribute to wine as a shared ritual—and to those moments of celebration when life, for a second, feels fully alive.
