This pop art style painting depicts a retro 80s toy that seemed to always be advertised on TV when I was young - Mister Frosty. It made a crushed ice 'slushy' type drink at home. You'd put the ice and some flavouring from the penguin shaped bottle into the top of Frosty's head, and the crushed ice would come out of the circle on his tummy, here depicted in pink.
I always wanted one of these but never got one, so I made this painting instead. I love the idea of turning a throwaway plastic toy into a piece of art that you can keep forever. The end result is a bold, bright painting that would brighten up any room in the house.

5.7 inches x 8.2 inches

I've been inspired to create work like this by classic pop artists like Andy Warhol, David Hockney, and Patrick Caulfield, but also by modern graphic designers.
