Beautiful morning for some plein air painting at the Alster in Hamburg. Love how green the city becomes in summer and the soft morning light that creates a varied green of the distant trees, the water lily in the water, the reflection of the willow trees in the water. A Great Crested Grebe couple were busy building their nests under the plane tree beside me. It’s such a fun thing to watch them plucking the water lily leaves to decorate their home. I couldn’t resist by including them in my painting. Surrounded by the most lyrical singing of the birds, I couldn’t think of anything better than plein air painting in such a beautiful morning 😊
