Motivated by the themes of alchemy and fantasy through the works of Leonora Carrington, Remedies Varo and other surrealists, I created this painting. I wanted the colour palette to resemble the concept of alchemy, turning objects into gold. I think of the skeletal fish as an alchemist, who lives among the ruins of an archway, forming golden droplets in his hand.
