Inspired by the work of Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres, 1851.

In my contemporary rereading, Madame Moitessier abandons the nineteenth-century bourgeois living room to transform into an urban icon. It maintains its elegant and solemn pose, but the skin is crossed by tattoos that tell new stories: ornamental motifs, graphic signs and symbols that intertwine memory and rebellion.

The scene moves in front of the neon of a tattoo studio: a place where art is no longer the prerogative of the elites, but becomes popular and identity language. Classical composure meets contemporary energy, generating an aesthetic and conceptual short circuit.

This reinterpretation is not a simple tribute, but a transfiguration: Madame Moitessier becomes a manifest body, a bridge between academic rigor and the living art of the present.
