№Varv 3

"January 1" by Anatoly Varvarov captures the quiet, contemplative aftermath of celebration. The painting shows a lonely winter playground under a soft blanket of snow, with a single red swing gently suspended and a folded paper airplane resting on its seat. The scene is devoid of people, evoking a sense of stillness and reflection.
The artist uses precise realism and subtle symbolism to express themes of memory, transience, and the delicate silence that follows human joy. The absence of children, the pale winter light, and the untouched snow convey both peace and a quiet void — the pause between what was and what will be. “January 1” is not just about a date; it's about the emotional reset that comes with a new beginning.
