When it starts to get warm outside and the first sun appears, I always wait for the irises to bloom. They are one of my favorite flowers and I have several irises growing in my garden. In this painting, I tried to convey exactly this feeling - the joy of spring, light and the first bright colors after a long winter. I like the way these flowers open up. I wanted the brushstrokes to be lively and free, as if the wind were playing with the petals. I think the painting turned out a little dreamy and very lively. It is about light, about freshness and about how wonderful it is to simply look at flowers.
