This square oil-on-canvas piece is rendered entirely in a single shade of red, from its uniform border to the grid of raised pixels covering the field. At the center I pulled and smudged the paint twice over the pixel surface, forming two curved shapes that break the grid’s regularity. These bold smears soften the pixel edges and establish focal points that immediately draw the viewer’s eye, introducing a sense of movement and tension across the otherwise consistent red expanse.
