"Golden Ratio"

I was inspired to create this watercolor artwork when I suddenly saw how the patches of shadow deep within the rose petals formed a golden ratio spiral.

Generally, I am very much inspired by the "mathematical" nature of the beauty that surrounds us, and the idea that beauty can be "calculated," yet also simply felt.

This etude features a Polka rose from the garden of the house where I currently live.
