The inspiration lies in the aesthetic of post-industrial materials that have gained a new layer of history through rust and wear. I was drawn to the perfect, triangular shape cut into the metal plate, which almost resembles a mountain peak or a symbolic shelter motif. The contrast between the raw, matte texture of the lower section and the rich, scratched upper surface is the core of the composition.
The work is intended to evoke a sense of strength and resilience, yet also solitude. Rust, despite being a sign of destruction, simultaneously paints the canvas with incredibly warm, organic shades of brown, terracotta, and gold. I want viewers to contemplate how beauty can emerge from decay and how a simple, geometric human intervention can give new meaning to old material.
