Original artwork description:

This work explores the fragile yet persistent nature of memory through the visual metaphor of forget-me-not flowers. Emerging from the contours of a human face, the delicate blooms represent the way memories intertwine with identity – blooming, fading, and reforming over time. The ethereal quality of the face, almost dissolving into the blossoms, suggests how memory shapes and sometimes obscures the self.
The title refers both to the symbolic meaning of the forget-me-not – remembrance and enduring connection – and to the concept of a personal "scale of memory": the range of moments we carry, from vivid to vague, cherished to haunting. The color scale at the edge of the painting acts as a visual cue, evoking the idea of measuring or calibrating memory – what we hold onto, what slips away, and how we translate experience into emotional hue.
In this piece, the boundary between the human and the natural, the personal and the collective, blurs into a poetic meditation on time, identity, and remembrance.
