Over the last year I have gone back to what I loved to draw as a kid, which is faces. While scrolling the internet recently I stumbled across the name, Fan Art. I was a bit horrified to think of myself a a Fan Artist as it seemed too shallow. I thought on it for a while and decided to play with the description.

I have started a series of these Fan Art images using easily recognisable characters. Deciding on these is more difficult than I expected.

The technique I used is based on the Flemish style of painting with thin layers of oil paint. Each layer has less solvent and more oil in order to dry without worry that the paint may crack in the future.

The paintings are posted rolled up in a tube for safety reasons. Once received they just need to be taken to a picture framer or art materials shop to be put back onto a frame.
