Original artwork description:

A million years ago in science class it stuck with me that the teacher emphasised how everything melts with time. He specified that even glass melts, as the bottom will be wider than the top a hundred years from now. Super interesting fact! Makes me think of it every time I come across a video where someone hunts down fossils inside rocks, the imprint of the living thing is interesting as I imagine the process of the living thing became stone.

So I began this artwork wanting to paint the ground, the dirt, blue to resemble water, and instead it just began to resemble water. Then I included rain the way I like to paint rain, as sheets of clear blue, and a melting/ evaporating moon. If you check out the time lapse or opinionated video of the making you’ll see that I added other items then decided less is more for this artwork.

This artwork is one of my hand-stretched ones, sold with hooks ready to hang and a certificate of authenticity.

Materials used:

Water soluble oils
