Original artwork description:

The Dutch coast is on the edge of a huge drowned land: Doggerland. At its heart flowed mighty rivers—ancient, untamed arteries of life. Doggerland’s rivers, once mighty and eternal, could not hold back the rising seas. Slowly, the delta turned to marshes, and the marshes became open water. The rivers that had shaped this world for millennia disappeared beneath the waves, their stories now buried in the depths of the North Sea.

This history inspired me to make this artwork of a long lost landscape. The artwork is made with acrylics, paper and metallic foil on linnen. The artwork is stretched on a wooden stretcher and framed in a blank wooden frame.

Materials used:

acrylics, paper, linnen, metallic foil
