Original artwork description:

Currents of Memory is a layered abstract painting that evokes the quiet rhythm of natural movement—waterways, wind-sculpted landscapes, or shifting recollections. Organic forms flow across the canvas in earthy ochres, mossy greens, ocean blues, and sun-warmed oranges, suggesting a terrain shaped by both time and emotion. White pathways dotted with delicate points of light resemble streams or neural pathways, adding a sense of gentle direction and energy. Subtle texture, translucent overlays, and fine linear marks create a sense of depth.

My technique involves starting with multiple layers of paint using a variety of shapes, forms and lines. I paint intuitively and quickly. Nearing the end, everything slows down and I begin the process of discernment, carefully analyzing value and composition until I am happy with the final painting.

Sides are painted gray with several coats of protective UV varnish. Signed on the back to allow it to be hung at any orientation. Wired in the back and ready to hang.

Materials used:

acrylic, gesso, markers, water soluble pencils
