I work in series over time revisiting then moving on to the next stop. This allows me many avenues to visit and continuity and longevity within a given style while remaining experimental across my entire practice which includes painting, collage and photography. By branding the series with abstract titles they take on a life of their own. All rooted in one imagination but diverse congregations like generations in a family tree.
The Minimal Intervention Sequence is a series I've been developing since 2015 wherein I paint out an extant image in this garish shade of emerald. Originally intended to challenge the idea of making everything for approbation I gave myself the task of making a series of unlikeable work.
Requires framing to be properly displayed.
