"Constructed Sights" is a site-specific abstract artwork created on a construction site in Amsterdam, blending found materials with carefully introduced elements to explore the dialogue between organic discovery and intentional design. Rooted in the raw environment of urban development, the work incorporates on-site materials alongside additions of wood, aluminum, and copper—materials chosen for their contrasting textures and reflective qualities. By integrating colored lighting, the composition shifts perceptually, evoking a sense of depth and movement within the physical space.
This piece is a reflection of my ongoing fascination with three-dimensional spaces and the ever-evolving relationship between built structures and their environments. The work embodies a balance between construction and abstraction—where industrial remnants meet aesthetic intervention. It exists as both artifact and architecture, responding to the temporality of the site while suggesting permanence through form and material.
"Constructed Sights" blurs the boundaries between sculpture and installation, between the accidental and the deliberate. It invites viewers to engage with the layers of the environment in which they live—encouraging a reconsideration of the overlooked, the in-between, and the potential that exists within spaces of transition. Through this piece, I aim to celebrate the poetics of construction as both a physical and conceptual process.
