Photosynthetic Pulse is an abstract embodiment of light transformed into life. Emerging from layers of molten wax and shellac, the composition breathes with luminous color and organic rhythm. The painting captures the invisible moment when energy becomes growth — when light, air, and matter fuse into a living pulse. It stands as a visual metaphor for the fragile balance that sustains existence.
This encaustic shellac painting (50×50 cm, 2025) on HDF panel explores the natural rhythm of photosynthesis through color and texture. Using heat and flame, I combine beeswax, carnauba wax, and shellac into organic networks that resemble roots and light veins. The work ranges from deep greens and violets to soft yellows and blues, symbolizing the transformation of light into energy – a key theme in my ongoing series on organic movement and renewal.
Some of my recent encaustic works are painted on HDF panels, which provide a smooth, heat-resistant surface ideal for fine layering.
