City Bot is one from my new series of hybrid robots fashioned from vintage images that were once tools, machinery or mechanical parts where I create an imaginary past of an imaginary future.
The colour variation in pictures is due to the framed picture being shot under a bright studio light and the warmer toned pictures are scans which more accurately reflect the real colour of the vintage paper.
Every detail of this bot has been considered from the lights and buttons on his front to the shadow on the ground, using upcycled original vintage ephemera and carefully arranged using acid free glue and flat mounted onto 8x10" off white archival paper.
The New York scene is one I'll likely never find again as it was part of a 1950's menu for Cunard.
The recycling side of collage feels all the more prevalent in this piece and a visual response to the world now as technology and AI evolves and changes everything at lightening speed.
Science Fiction seems more like Science FACTion more than ever.
Presented in a deep box frame in black with real glazing, this art is ready to hang and will be shipped securely in a box with tracking. A signature will be required on receipt of delivery.
If you'd prefer this unframed and sent in an envelope box or are based in the US, Canada or Australia and would like this unframed too please get in touch so that I can alter the price and shipping for you
