Grey Fosse; Collection
A Collection of 9 vivid abstract ink and wax resist paintings each measuring 12 x 12 inches.
This series of drawings is based on the characteristics of an area of moorland within the high
catchment area of Hebden Water. Photographs over a period of 20 years show the drastic changes that
have been made to this land by burning, draining and allowing or encouraging erosion. I started the
drawings by looking at aerial imagery of this location and soon the images began to take on a life
of their own, as mark-making and gesture became informed by the behaviour of marks and processes on
the land.. This ongoing series looks at the patterns of the land in the upper catchment area of the
Calder. I started the drawings by looking at aerial imagery of this location and soon the images
began to take on a life of their own, as mark-making and gesture became informed by the behaviour
of marks and processes on the land.
The paintings are unframed and could be framed all together or hung in a row, column or block. They have been made so that they fit together in a block of three rows of three.
About the artist
My work has been selected for the Royal Institute of Painters in watercolour exhibition, Mall Galleries, London, (2024, 2023), ING Discerning Eye exhibition, London (2022) Sunday Times Watercolour competition London and Southampton (2020)
I hold a Master of Art (Fine Art) and BA Honours Degree in Fine Art.
My painting is bound up with examination of the land, and in particular, the ephemeral, those forces and presences that cannot be seen but which change and shape the land.
I have been painting every day for many years, since graduating with an MA in Painting. Over 500 paintings have been sold to collectors across the globe, from USA to Canada, Australia, Britain, Singapore, Germany, and all of Europe.
Paintings will be sent to you unframed, (unless otherwise stated in the description) and protected with cellophane or paper, in a re-enforced padded envelope or recycled box, on a Tracked Delivery service with the Royal Mail or Parcel Force International for large items.
