Three cars speed past the viewer going right to left on Inner state I-95 in a gritty section of the Bronx, New York city. The retaining wall appears huge as the cars rumble by in the top portion of the painting, the largest and closest one ironically appearing to carry the distant event marquee on its top as a bizarre roof ornament.
Influences include Robert Henri, William Glackens, Edward Hopper, George Bellows and Richard Diebenkorn.
