Original artwork description:

The model for this painting was my youngest son David and the beach was Southwold Suffolk UK.
I apply the acrylic paint in successive washes to achieve a soft structure and then overpaint some areas with a more opaque pigment. I use artists hogs hair brushes to apply and manipulate the paint with large 1" brushes to spread the washes. The work is painted on a canvas board finish as I like the rigidity and fine surface.
Finished with a coat of Winsor & Newton Satin UV varnish, this not only protects the painting but has a unifying effect.

Materials used:

acrylic
