Beach Bot is one from my new series of hybrid robots fashioned from vintage images that were once tools, machinery or mechanical parts where I create an imaginary past of an imaginary future.
This panoramic piece is composed from 4 vintage pages for the background before building the robot striding across the beach complete with shadow, his long neck enabling underwater walking. This colourful scene encompasses the atomic period with people and cars synonymous of the time.

Beach bot has been considerately constructed so his parts look as though they were built in the same factory, using upcycled original vintage ephemera and carefully arranged using acid free glue and flat mounted onto A3 off white archival paper.

The recycling side of collage feels all the more prevalent in this piece and a visual response to the world now as technology and AI evolves and changes everything at lightening speed.
Science Fiction seems more like Science FACTion more than ever.

The colour variation in pictures is due to the framed picture being shot under a bright studio light and the warmer toned picture is a scan which more accurately reflect the real colour of the vintage paper.

Presented in a box frame in black with real glazing, this art is ready to hang and will be shipped securely in a box with tracking. A signature will be required on receipt of delivery.
