At first glance this cut-out collage may look like a painting, but the close-up shots show some subtleties of the cut paper technique I use: there are rough edges where I've cut the paper with a scalpel, there are variations in colour where I've painted the paper before cutting it, and you can see that the black figure sits slightly away from the white backing paper....all the qualities I love about collage! There is a subtle iridescent sheen to the black painted paper.
The black figure extends beyond the top and left edge and there is a generous border to allow for framing all the way around. The artwork comes wrapped in a protective plastic sleeve.
