Original artwork description:

Oil on canvas painting of a rooster and hen which to me looked as if she were about to walk away from a squabble they had been engaged in. Inspired by the exquisite colors in the reference photo I used, (taken by my dear friend and photographer, Sarah Dennehy); I sought to draw out the incredible vibrancy in the feathers. The background is a combination of elements in the photograph, such as grass and straw...and my decision to add a bright and sunny background to balance the vivid colors in these two subjects.

This painting is sold unframed since it is painted on all sides, on a museum-profile, gallery-wrap canvas that has a depth of 2-3/8 inches .

Materials used:

oil paint, linseed oil (painting medium)
