I once walked into my dining room and was inspired by this image of my two children deeply engaged in watching the television. I captured the moment on my camera and began to make sketched notes of the scene. In those days photography required patience as the film had to be processed. Eventually I was able to paint the picture. The flooded light through the leaded windows of the cottage, the reflections on the wooden floor and Georgia's natural pose are elements which particularly appealed to me then ; and still do.
