Original artwork description:

In the UK just before Pop Art, a group of British painters focussed on painting everyday, trivial, unremarkable things - "The Kitchen Sink" artists, This painting has some of its roots in that tradition - that anything visible could be the subject of a painting, without prejudice. Here it is combined with another UK tradition, in which I was trained, of trying to make something classic and monumental out of the everyday. ("The Euston Road School" of Coldstream, Gowing, Uglow and Gopal-Chowdhury).
Painted at Leeds during my BA Fine Art studies.

Materials used:

Oil paint on linen canvas, egg and oil emulsion primer, damar varnish
