Most of my inspiration and ideas come from Zambia generally. I usually visit the local villages in Lusaka mainly because of the African craft market to see what the peasant villagers make and sell and to see how they live their daily lives.
Collecting all the visual material from what I see gets sketched onto paper first before working on the final piece. Once the sketch looks intact I draw the final outline on to the page. I use Caran Dache colored pencils. Colored pencils stand out nicely with my african villages showing a lot of detail and depth in every element created in the artwork like for example the people, huts and sand dirt.
I mainly love the color shades and tones with the brown and how it depicts zambian lifestyle.
