Artwork description:
This screen print came about because of the track 'Verses from the Abstract' by A Tribe Called Quest that features Jazz bassist Ron Carter, my introduction to him. The track finishes with Q-tip seemingly ad libbing the line 'Ron Carter is on the bass' that for some reason just stuck in my head. I had planned to do a portrait of him as he has a very charismatic face but the hands seemed to say it all, the names in the background being just some of the many musicians he's played with.
