Whilst walking in Wheaten Woods in the direction of Oughtibridge near Sheffield, the sky was that really dense thick grey overcoat which is a trademark of the UK. Out of nowhere a bright patch of light started to materialise right in front of us. And suddenly, the sun punched a massive hole in the grey quilt. Well of course the tripod and camera were out in a flash (pardon the pun!). With time against us and knowing that this beautiful sunburst might disappear at any moment, we had to work fast!
A 24mm wide angle lens, f/22, 1/125 sec; click! Actually I took a few shots. On examination, I could only see the monochrome treatment working for this artwork; colour just wouldn't 'cut the mustard'! The artwork was screaming black and white, and so I bent to its wishes.
These magic moments are only a fraction frozen in time, and if you are lucky enough to witness the presence of such magic, you need to get the shot. Frozen magic is special magic!
We hope you enjoy the capture of this frozen moment.
