Optical Sound was created whilst on a residency in the Klankenbos Sound Forest in Belgium.
During my initial research I discovered that sounds and colours have a relationship as both can be compared by their frequencies or wavelengths.
As I spent time with the sound sculptures I realised that they were also affected by the sounds of the surrounding nature. The fall of a pine cone, the sound of the canaries or the rustle of leaves.
These inspired the final painting, which I hung amidst the forest as an interpretation of optical sound.
