Artist's description:

This 2014 piece is another work with two women, a common theme for me. I painted this at a time when I was wondering if anyone truly cared about my work, remembering times when I wondered if anyone cared about my life or about me. It's not meant to be depressing but rather to relay that this is a common emotion and question that everyone deals with at one point or another. As I painted the piece, I reminded myself that I care about my creative work, my like and myself, and I've seen that others do as well. I also know that I care about others, and that is one reason why I try to be emotionally honest when I paint. I like knowing that perhaps someone out there will understand that they aren't the only one wondering who really cares. I think having the question speaks to our humanity, and shows us that we are all capable of caring for ourselves and each other.
