Artist's description:

Ms. C. Voyant is an Amish doll; these dolls appear faceless as they endorse the belief that "All are alike, in the face of God". The reasoning behind this belief is to prevent idolatry and to avoid the use of graven images.

However, the irony here is that 'she' has been placed in a matrons outfit, thus defining her sex as well as her occupation.

In this piece I wanted to display how identity within an individual will always rein supreme, despite mans efforts to herd humanity under one umbrella.

Hence the name Claire was gifted to the girl with extrasensory perception.
