This piece is a visual pun relating to the paradoxical thought experiment of Erwin Schrödiner; in which a cat is simultaneously alive and dead.
In this image, a cat (neither dead or alive) lays flat with a tyre tread splitting the composition and subject in two.
The hand-made* frame is deep-set to emulate the notion of looking into a box.
*** Note that because of my shoddy carpentry the frame is not quite a perfect square... I can send more accurate measurements on request.
