Original artwork description:

This painting is of an imprint left behind by a pair of scissors.

The scissors have been removed from view because they did not make the grade; further more the impression shows their open-ready state in which they too, quite literally, 'didn't make the cut'.

This piece is painted thinly in stains to mirror the way in which an impression or memory functions - as an echo of substance.

The frame is handmade out of oak.

Materials used:

Oil on Canvas
