I've been exploring surrealism recently and continuing on with my fascination with the night sky. This idea just popped into my head after I finished another painting with a boat floating among the stars.
This little box canvas had been painted with crackle glaze which gives it a wonderfully unusual texture - almost like cracked parched earth, and then spray painted with fine art acrylic paints and the moon and deckchair where then painted using acrylic paint and paint pens.
As I was painting in the shadow of the deckchair I started humming the song 'Moonlight shadow' which then seemed perfect for the title of this wee painting!
As with most of my smaller paintings I sign my initials on the side of the canvas rather than the front but there isn't an option to state this when listing the painting.
