Artist's description:

One of my favourite things to do is to lie on the ground under a tree in blossom and look up at the sky through it. It makes me feel happy. This year's blossom is particularly good. Blossom has such wonderful depth of focus and I thought it would be interesting to see if felt would depict it well. I laid down the background, felted it and then made the flowers and branches separately and dry felted them in. I think it gives the painting the 3D effect of looking through blossom. I feel it has the blossom colours just right; that baby pink without being twee.

Materials used:

felted wool, silk chiffon, silk and silk thread
