Original artwork description:
The focus of this painting is the distance. Almost all the detail, except a few guiding lines, are in the top 1/3 of the piece, giving a feel of length and space. I was inspired by the 'traditional English' view, which reminded me of some Turner watercolours. The challenge for me was to depict detail at such a distance, using minimal brush strokes. My eye was lead to it by a couple of paths in the crop.
