Question for the artist?

Artist's description:

I am fascinated by eyes, LION'S EYE is a portrait of the eye of a Lion.

We are all familiar with Lions, we can see then in local zoos across the globe, there are 1000s of hours of video shot every week and there are millions of photos of them scattered across the Net. but this familiarity and easy access hides a rather alarming truth, Lions are in decline, serious decline their habitat is shrinking, they are being hunted and poached in most of their range.

In 1950 there were 400,000
In 1990 it was down to just 100,000
Now it is thought to be under 20,000
And these figures even with a huge well funded conservation attempt.

Lets hope something changes and we can allow some space in our crowded world for Nature
