Lake Powell, the second largest man-made lake in the United States – Arizona. There are 96 major canyons to explore. Lake Powell is classified as a "high desert" area due to it's 3,700 ft. elevation. When it does snow at Lake Powell, the contrast of the white against red-rock cliffs and azure blue waters makes for beautiful photographs and memories. The lake, which lies partly in Arizona and mostly in Utah, is more than 500 feet deep in places. Lake Powell is one of the world's great places for houseboating! The 186-mile long lake offers sandy beaches, cool blue water, and exceptional red-rock scenery. I found this place very exiting for my works and did several paintings among which is this one. One of the most interesting aspect in my painting is the atmospheric perspective given by the color of rocks and the receding clouds shape and colors. The more I look at this painting the better it appears in my eyes. George
